To start i am one unlucky guy with a vodafone branded T610. Had the chance to try a T-Mobile T610 from a collegue. Apparently, T-Mobile did not screw up the phone like Vodafone did:
Case branding:
Vodafone ugly red logo on front buttom and on back.
T-Mobile pink/grey logo only on front
(grey is not that noticable so it's just the pink T to worry about)
Softkeys:
Vodafone live! The right softkey always leads to Vodafone Live. You can't change it. Also the softkey sports the vodafone logo on red which cannot be changed even through another theme.
T-Mobile sticked with the "More"-softkey. The "More"-option lets you easily stop/start infrared, bluetooth etc. from main menu.
Menu Icons:
T-Mobile sticked with the IMHO nice and clear SE standard icons.
Vodafone introduced their own icons: 16 colored crap and even worse hard to understand
Customization of "Favorites, More..." etc.
Same on both phones. Nearly every link goes straight to either Vodafone Live! or T-Zones
Customization II
Vodafone crowds the memory with a big vodafone screensaver and some useless pictures. You may get rid of most things with a master reset. Not the screensaver unfortunately.
T-Mobile's the same whereas the screensaver is smaller as is the T-Mobile default theme. T-Mobile also includes a ringer-variant of their jingle.
To sum it up: When you can decide which one to get (i.e. ebay'ing one) opt for the T-Mobile one or a device from any other provider and avoid the Vodafone desaster. If you already have the VF just drop them a note that they have done a very bad job with that phone. I did so already ;-(
If anybody has some tipps on how to get rid of the VF stuff, please email me
mw_bay@netzausgang.com. Until i can only change my VF T610 for a non-hissing one. But I doubt that VF will give me an unbranded phone.

i have got the t-mobile one and i'm not bothered at all by the branding. it's fine (apart from the t-zones logo and removable branding on the cover) once you've changed the theme.
