I've got a UK Voda t610 and can't seem to get into the 'edit pictures' mode that this review suggests the t610 has

Is is yet another Vodafone improvement or, if not, how do I access it?

it works fine on my unbranded T610 for both inbuilt pictures and pictures I have taken.

The way to edit your pictures (on my unbranded import T610) is by doing the following:

Pictures & Sounds > Picture Editor > create a new colour picture > "Open" softkey > choose the pic you want to edit.

Does it leave the original picture alone when you do that?
(I mean you might regret the changes later)

yeah or you can view the pic normally and choose edit from the "more" menu.

if you don't like the change just back out and it prompts to save and you can choose yes or no.

I can only edit pre-loaded picture and not ones I've taken with the camera...

Ok that gave me a clue to the answer.

you can edit pictures that are of the screen resolution 120 x 160 which includes built-in and those taken at camera low res, but not those taken at the camera high resolution of 288 x 352.

That's right, you wont be able to edit the ones that you've taken using your T610. (Big Size) Every small images(dimension) found in my T610 can be edited. I suggest just upload your pictures to your pc then use Photoshop to edit. That way, you can play even more on the effects.Ü Cheers.
