The only thing that's keeping me from getting a P800 is the horrible god-forsaken camera. Come on you can't even copy text from a piece of paper with it. And no flash, so is really quite useless... I'm sticking to my trusty Cybershot U10, takes pix a million times better than the P800!

So when are we going to have a P800 SANS the camera??? I reckon that'll make the device slimmer also, sexy. Then maybe they could ditch that MS Duo crap and use the conventional Memory Stick... Yeah and perhaps an aluminum shell like Clies and T610. And get rid once and for all the gay-as-hell baby blue color scheme, it's really making me sick!

And the point with this was to piss off us P800 users?

Oh, then I doubt you'll ever get a new high-end mobile phone... cuz they all will come with crappy cameras (well, SE seems to have a 1.3 MP phone camera out already, so your DCU-10 has been rendered obsolete)

Camera phones are here to stay. With the advent of video phones, I doubt manufacturers will scrap cameras... the new SE Z1010 even has 2.

Although I agree that the P800 might've been better if they got rid of the camera and just made it slimmer.

Well if you got pissed that's your problem. Don't get me wrong the P800 is a neat device, but the camera just ain't good enough for me... so I feel it's better off without it!

So are we going to have a camera-less P800 or not???

If it ain't good enough for you. Don't buy it.

I would like a better camera myself, but i rather have it there than no camera. Remember it's only a phone, see it as a bonus.

Btw, i'm not pissed, but it was the way you wrote it. It looked like you wanted to piss of p800 users.

It wasn't SEs idea to make a competitor with a camera such as the cybershot series, the P800 is a phone and it can take pictures as well. Can ur cybershot make phone calls or sms!? Can they make a camera that could surf the net(as we all know, there exist a camera that could play mp3)!?
@jplacson - i agree on the part that camera phones are here to stay & in my opinion the P800 would have been better with a different Aluminium kind of cover like the clies(again, thats my opinion only).

Wouldn't it be great to have a slim sexy aluminum camera-less P800 and a separate OptioS-class digicam? You get a kickass PDA-phone and a kickass 3x optical zoom digicam: the best of both worlds. Then just stick (excuse the pun) the Memory Stick into the PDA-phone (which invokes the MS autorun facility which launches viewer or MMS app) and you're off to viewing and/or sending it. There's really no need for an integrated camera. Would you ever go back to a shitty 640x480 cam again?

I think the point of integrated cameras is lost a bit here. It was never meant for g-whizz photos but for MMS and the odd background pic for the camera.

I have the SONy P1 and do like to U20 but await a version in the size of the U20 with zoom.
