I've just read a t610 review on mobilereview.com and it mentions the possibility of a t610i which "is their presumption". They presume the phone would have a tft screen and IM support...

Does anyone else "presume" this and what is the likelyhood of this?
I really am considering buying the phone but the STN screen is described as really bad in the review and almost impossible to use on a summers day, any comments on this?

i think itīs possible, BUT if will make a T610i, it will not be out before the end of this year. it would be stupid to start to sell a "i" version now when the T610 ar selling wery god! if they will make a "i" version, it will probebly be out for sale when the selling of T610 is not so god anymore

The problem is of course that unlike t68/i, will probably not replace peoples phones free of charge onto a "t610i" - so do I buy a t610 or wait to see if they release one with a better screen?

hey guys lets remeber the rumors about the 7650i. about the same phone that should've been out around new year and with much better functions and more memory. well its been 6months now, where is it? haha nokia will never make a 7650i. because the phone isn't selling that good since the 3650 and P800 came out

Why would make a T610i? They did a T68i and that is the only remake of a phone that they have made except for the T28s>T29s. The T68i was made to establish the brand since it was selling really good as T68m under the name Ericsson. They just thougth why don't just chance the cover to and we will advertise us for "free".

This is not the case with the T610 is it?

The difference is the t68i was making full use of the t68m hardware, the t610i sounds like a hardware improvement. This message was posted from a T610

The t68i came out because had to change the t68 to make it mms compatible. As opposed to still selling t68s and upgrading firmware, they decided to make a new phone that looks different (colours etc) that they could plug as an mms phone.

I read that they sold it as having mms but the software was not ready (or the networks) when the software was ready they released a new phone to promote sony ericsson and had to give away the upgrade. This message was posted from a T300

SE has realised their mistake during the release of t68/i/m. But they have not learnt from the lesson yet. since the launch of t610, and found that there's still some kind of bugs in the phone, i don't think they would release an improved version. Rather, they would put more effort in making Z1010 which will be more powerful than t610.
