> What can I do with GPRS?
Bookmark topic
I just got my T68i from Cingular and got my GPRS service activated. Now what? What can I do with the GPRS? What is GPRS by the way? Is there any difference between WAP and GPRS? Can I surf the web on my T68i with GPRS or WAP? Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

you use gprs to access the internet. but your t68 only has a wap browser so you are limited to wap sites. but you can access the web thru your laptop or pda by using your phone as a modem and connecting your laptop/pda to it via ir or bt. of course you also need gprs to send/receive mms.

you can use it to send and recieve mms messages. Depending on your service provider you may also be able to send and recieve email with GPRS.

Phil.

GPRS=General Packet Radio Service
Basically means you can send data at higher speeds than normal.

GPRS is charged as data, independent of connect time. At least with T-Mobile. You can also wap-browse by dialup CSD and pay connect time instead of data.

IF you are very lucky (and I'm not!) you can also get your email but I have have no luck as not all ISP have a GPRS site and in which case you are forced to use the phone as a dial-up modem thereby paying per minute (watch out!).
I believe its something to do with the POP3/SMTP settings in your phone. Nyway Orange-UK have a limit on transfer size (2k I believe).
