Just been in my local shop (Norwich), ordered a sim free one to arrive tomorrow for £299.99.
Nice.

Do you know if this is a national T610 roll out for CPW?
Will CPW only have them Sim Free tomorrow or do they have stock for the networks too?
I am keen to get one on Orange upgrade to take advantage of the inclusive insurance on my tariff (rather than just getting it sim free and sticking my sim in!)

CPW have them to order on o2, Voda or sim free.
No news on the Orange version so far.
Next day delivery until tomorrow/thursday when the bigger stores will get their allocations.

I phoned my local CPW today and they have them SIM free and on T-Mobile, but the lady said to call back on friday to see if they had any on O2. Which I thought was a bit weird cus O2 don't do anything with their phones! Maybe they just have to sort out all the paper work etc???????!

Just phoned O2 direct and a very helpful woman told me the following:
- T610 was due out very soon but has been temporarily withdrawn due to a few specific problems (the hissing we all know about and a couple of phone functions didn't work correctly - she didn't say which ones)
- T610 is now going through very thorough accreditation process to sort out these problems
- No new release date as yet
- They want to release it perfect with no problems (unlike other networks) so although there's a delay, it will work perfectly when it arrives
She said if I wanted to buy other stock through a retailer then it obviously wouldn't have been approved by O2 and they couldn't guarantee that there wouldn't be problems using it on the O2 network (but "good for you if its been accredited by the retailer and is ok").
Now I don't know whether to wait for approved (perfect) O2 stock or get a CPW one connected through them to O2.
BTW, Carphone Warehouse's Wednesbury Distribution Centre had 812 SIM-free T610's in stock at 12.45 today!

I see where your coming from with the 'perfect' for the network thing. I have been waiting since Nov 02 to upgrade my phone to something I like, I dunno If I want to wait till maybe July! After all a software update of the phone will fix any major bugs anyway won't it?
Also how did you find out how many they had in stock? by the sounds of it, if CPW had none in stock on Monday and that many on Tuesday this lots could be from the hiss free batch?

When the guy in my local CPW had a look on his computer he showed me the screen. As well as the 812 at Wednebury they also had 125 somewhere else (not sure where)
