> Process for getting T610 repaired (UK)
Bookmark topic
Just to clarify for those that don't know. I've just spoken with the SE support desk in the UK and they have confirmed that they are aware of the hissing issue and that the problem is caused by a component in the earpiece. (They even have a special code to log it against). I was advised to return the handset to Celestica, and not to the store where I purchase the phone. Instructions are :-
1> Package the phone and battery (without SIM) in a padded envelope. Enclose a photocopy of proof of purchase. Make a note of any stored telephone numbers on the phone itself. Include in the package a sheet of paper detailing the date, nature of fault, contents list and IMEI number. Note : The automated service I was transferred to which gave these instructions mentioned quoting a reference number, but I wasn't given one.
2> Send the package using Royal Mail Special Delivery to the following address :
Celestica Telford Ltd
PO Box 80
Telford
TF2 9WT
SE advised that the turnaround for repair would be up to 7 days. The telephone number for SE (UK) is 08705 237237.
Hope this helps,
Lee

This exactly the same thing they told me last week.
I spoke to Celestica today and they are now advising a 4 to 5 week turnaround.

Really? Well, there is no way I'm sending my phone back just yet. Have you got a number for Celestica? I'll call them in a few weeks, when hopefully the turnaround time will be quicker. I think I'll also call SE and advise them of the estimated turnaround time. It doesn't look good if they say 7 days, and Celestica say 4 weeks!
Thanks for the info triforce.
