an easy way of explaining it is that some companies use it to advertise their products when you are in range of their store.
say, for example, McDonalds used WAP push messages. this would mean that when you walk past their shop, they'd automatically send you a WAP push message saying something like 'Big Macs only 99p' or something... you get my point

WAP push message is basically a coded SMS message wich includs a link to a WAP page and you should be able to open it in one or 2 clicks.
