I wanted to ask this question=>
Before purchasing the T610 how should we test-out the phone if it has any bugs, like for example the hissing problem?
How do I know if the T610 has a hissing problem or not? Do I adjust the volume setting or what?

The shop should hopefully have a demo phone - just ask if you can ring the shop phone or something - if it has the hissing problem you will be able to hear it when the phone is ringing - you will also be able to decide whether it is significant enough of a problem for you (the hiss seems to vary between phones - either that or peoples' tolerance of it varies). If you can persuade them to pick up and say a few words then you will be able to tell whether it is enough to distract you during conversation. I don't see why any shop would be particularly averse to this - particularly if they are going to get a potential sale out of you.
There aren't really any other problems that I'm aware of that you would particularly need to look out for. I would suggest that you avoid the Vodafone Live! version though as it really is inferior to the un-tampered version - both in functionality and style of menus.

Well generally speaking u gotta test it 1st. I always do that and if they wouldnt allow it i'd go someplace else. Plus send an sms go wap-surfing..ask the sw version and check it here. this way ull find out what r the bugs, etc. I am not talking about t610 but whatever phone.

as far as i can remember the hissing was evident at any volume setting - although it didn't really bother me personally - would have been nice not to have it but it wasn't enough to make me return it - the Vodafone Live! shite however - that was another story!

looking from the topics in the General forum section; Model #'s R2C (behind the battery) has the hissing problem. Is this true or false?
Is there other stuff I should look for as well, whether of the day or week released.

I have model #R2B and mine has the hissing, but its not loud enough for me to bother getting it repaired. It sounds no worse than the radiation buzz that most other phones seem to get.
