Hi All,
I'd like to compile a list of all the different SMS e-mail addresses for each provider. I mean, the address that you can send an e-mail to, and it will show up as an SMS on the phone. I don't know about everybody else, but I find this extremely valuable. I use it especially to write programs to send myself automated alerts. In addition you can use it to send SMS to people even if your networks are incompatible.
I have found that these e-mail addresses are not very well publicized and many people don't even know they have them!
The ones I know so far are:
US
----
AT&T:
10digitnum@mobile.att.net
T-Mobile:
10digitnum@tmomail.net
Verizon:
10digitnum@vtext.com
Cingular:
10digitnum@mobile.mycingular.com
Canada
--------
Rogers AT&T:
10digitnum@pcs.rogers.com
Fido:
10digitnum@fido.ca
Telus:
10digitnum@msg.telus.com
Please add others that you know of to this thread!
I am especially interested in finding the SMS e-mail address for Orange in the UK if one exists. Being on AT&T here in the US, I can't SMS my friend on Orange. If I knew an e-mail address for his phone I could. He has never heard of SMS e-mail addresses - however I can't believe that North America is doing something better than the UK in terms of mobile phones - surely Orange must have this capability as well? It seems almost every carrier - except maybe Sprint, does anyone know? - in North America has this feature!
Anyway, if anybody knows any more SMS addresses for different providers, please post them here!
