They are talking poo. You have to have GPRS for MMS to work!

They may however be talking about the change in APN. I believe that O2 are only able to provide you with access to one of their APNs. If you are on their data APN (for html web surfing) then they have to change you to the wap APN which has support for MMS. The wap APN doesn't allow html/pop3 e.t.c access though.

Someone will correct me if I am wrong but this is the conclusion I have come to.

Phil.

You can setup multiple accounts on your phone but it is their systems which wont allow a single customer to have more than one GPRS account...I think.

You need to phone up O2 and get them to change your GPRS account, whilst on the phone you can get the APN off them. I believe that it is something like mobile.o2.co.uk
A much easier workaround though is to use a GSM wap account for email. It is what I do and although it is a bit slower, at least it is still free.

Ok, If you have a working GSM data account then it is a simple matter of getting the right servers. You should be able to recieve mail from any pop3 server so if you enter the IP address for the mail server that you want to use then you should be able to download your mail.
Which email account/ISP mail are you trying to use?

Phil.
