> GPF-like dialog box for BT Failures
Bookmark topic
I used to wonder why occasionally my SE HCB-30 (incar handsfree BT kit) and P800 would occasionally stop working together. Pressing and holding the voicedial button would not work, nor would dialing a number of my phone automatically direct the call the the handsfree kit.
Recently, I had the chance to see the LCD screen of my phone when I tried connecting the two (and failed).
Oddly enough, there was a dialog box regarding an application error initializing bluetooth or something.
The thing is, I left it alone (cos I was driving at that time).
And when I went back to view the phone again later, I realized it was now displaying the "Hold Power down for 10 secs to reboot the phone" image.
Now, I have encountered this screen pretty often. I guess the phone encountered the BT error and then after a certain time, automatically triggered off the reset screen, which explained why I never saw the dialog box before.
Damn.. no wonder the studies show that having car kits can also cause more accidents

I'm having the Ericsson BT carkit installed, and I have had a mare getting the P800 working with my 3com dongle and Tosh built in BT. My HBH-20 has the same problem you just described. I am seriously doubting the P800 is ever going to work well with the carkit. Its a good job BT has a half-cool name (think it was originally called bodylan) and a cool blue LED otherwise I'm sure it would have been ditched a long time ago.
