In these days of modern battery technology, is it still advisable to fully discharge a battery before charging it again? Is it also advisable not to leave batteries on charge all the time?

The reason I ask is that I've just purchased a SE desk-stand for use at work, and wonder whether I should have the mains charger connected all the time.

Regards,

Lee

Li-Ion batteries dont like being discharged fully. There should also be no problem with leaving them on charge and the battery will have protection to prevent it from being overcharged.

Li-Ion batteries do not suffer from the memory effect that NiCad batteries did, so leaving the phone on charge will not affect battery life.

Thanks for your quick response Andy. Off to crawl under my desk now to find a spare socket!

Cheers,
