Hope it is good then. What date of manufacture is it? (Label under battery, 03wXX = week XX of 2003). Go somewhere with a poor signal, it may be more pronounced then, and could be as i said - just a quiet snake in amongst the cogs, like some of us are fortunate enough to have!

goddamit ! i thought it was ok ! even when i listen to a ring tone it sounds like someone is winding it up. crap. back to the cpwh with it then.
production week 17 if you're interested. phoned SE and they said it can be rectified. just to see i asked if the hissing was a known problem but the chap said no (!) just a fault in my phone. HA!

LOL!! I tested my batch 17 t610 inside the store no problems with the speaker. I rang the phone there and my home number no problems. Soon as I get home... it hisses.
Well I am going to wait a week and see if anymore batches are released and change it
