Just setup my GPRS / MMS settings on my T610 but am having a problem. Not sure if it's my settings, or a network problem. I'm sending the MMS myself to test it (can you do this?)

My phone is configured with the MMS settings from the vodafone website. When I try and send a test MMS, it says 'sending'. I can see the GPRS logo showing GPRS is in range and can be used, the earth logo showing GPRS session is in progress, and an envelope with an arrow head pointing to the right. After about 30 seconds, I get the message "Communication error. Please try again later." Any clue if it's my setup or more likely a network problem? Is there a site I can use to have a test MMS sent to my phone?

Thanks

PS. Am I getting charged for all these failed attempts??

The same is happening to me. I asked in a vodafone store and they said that it was a fault in their system. She said that they would correct it by the end of the week.

i had the same problem be4, something even worse, i sent a mms to my friend, the screen on T610 showed that the sending process was successed, but after a while, my friend's phone received nothing but a text message, saying visit a website to view the mms instead of downloading it straight away to his phone (GD87).

why?????????????????????

Not neccessarily. It is probably just that your friend does not have MMS enabled on his phone.
Here, there is no cross network compatability in the UK so you cannot send mms messages to people on other networks.
Regards,

Phil.

I didn't know about this x-network MMS thing in the UK, that explains a lot of weird things that have hapened...

Is there any similar compatibility problem sending MMS to other countries from the UK?

As a guess I would say no you cannot send mms to other countries. except maybe if you are sending a message from a t-mobile phone in the UK to a t-mobile phone in france.

People, look in the forum. There is the same problem with T610 (including mine) on other networks.

Can you check, if you have problems sending MMS/using GPRS on your T610's only if they were unlocked?

If it is so - can it be the settings from the previous provider, which prevent the phone setting up new MMS/GPRS accounts properly?

Pls note, the problem remains even after MMS/GPRS setup seems to be properly installed - via operator over-the-air settings message or from sonyericsson.com.

Shall we reset the memory with operator settings? Is it possible? Any ideas?

I've worked out (much to my embarrasment) that my problem was due to the fact that the IP address in one of my settings was out by 1. I had 213 instead of 212 (something like that anyway). Oh well, you live and learn.

Thanks for the responses.
