Visited Cebit today. Was able to play a lot with the t68i. All the models i've had in my hand (and there were a LOT of ladies with a LOT of t68i phones) had software R2A011 and some test numbers in the service menu.
t68i menu responded very fast (compared with my t68 r2a). T9 speed really nice! although still not as fast as a Nokia. Asked the famous t68i software upgrade question about ten times to ten different SE people and got about ten different answers! Best: "this week sir, definitely" Bad: "end of may sir, still a lot of testing to do"
P800 was really cool, although during demonstration device hung twice and SE guy had to remove te battery:-)
Chatpen in real life is HUGE, it looks normal pen size on pictures but the thing certainly is a big mama. Worked great by the way. Demonstrator wrote a note on (special) paper, chatpen translated it and sent it via bluetooth to t68i and t68i sent it via gprs to emailadress. A few seconds later the note was on a big plasma screen connected to the SE mailserver, very very nice!!
HBH-30: bluetooth wet dream, very very nice design and very important; excellent sound quality!!

about the chatpen... did the demoguy write it with his normal handwriting or did he use something like palm grafiti? and r2a014 seems to be the latest version of the t68i software (at least confirmed...)

No, didn't see the Z700. Just focussed on "ericsson design" products.
All the t68i demo people had about 5 phones hanging around their neck (can you imagine?!)and at least one of them was connected with a mca-20. Using the little colorscreen as a viewfinder was kind of funny, worked pretty well!
Can't really remember about the rubber back, i didn't think it was important, sorry.
My t68i has just the old R2A software version. When I was at Cebit and asked a SE lady if they had an EMMA2 server here, she laughed out loud, but the answer was negative.
With the chatpen you can use normal handwriting on special paper (the famous yellow ones made by 3M) with very little dots printed on them. The demoguy not only wrote a message but also made a small drawing. The chatpen does NOT recognize your handwriting but just "translates" you're handwriting via bluetooth and gprs to and image file and that you can send and receive as an email.
I've played with about 5 different t68i phones and they ALL had r2a011, so don't know about r2a014. Some people actually were a bit confused when I entered the code for the service menu and probably thougt, "what the hell is this guy doing?"

hmm arent the chatpen supposed to translate your writing to text in some way? would be pretty useless only to be able to send gifs...
and LOL about the thing with the service menu

there are some other pics floating around of a t68i with r2a014
