This is a quote about the T616 on Cingular in California from Howardforums. "I have one sitting on the table next to me right now showing no service while the Nok 6800 and 6200 are holding a -95. This is on Cingular 850 about 4 miles from a site over level terrain indoors"

Anyone have any further info on this?

Cant talk about the US phones, but the t610 is certainly better than the t68i for it's RF capability, I have an unlocked T68i with 1 bar of service and the same sim in the t610 sat in the same charger get's 3 bars, so i would say it's better RF, not scientific test but hey....

the real test would be comparing the RF of T616 to S55, P280, or R225. Those phones are famous for their superior RF. ALso, the screen meter blows...field tests need to be done in order to see dB.

R520 has the best RF of any SE or ERicsson phone in my experience. IAT-10 helped too

SE phones will struggle in the US where coverage is not as complete as in Euraope and Asia. They are feature-rich...unfortunately...actual utility is limited in USA

I agree that my t610 gets better reception than my t68i did. My uncle said that the cingular salesman that sold him his t306 would have lower reception than some older nokia's and motorola's. According to him this is because the sony ericsson phones only work with digital networks not the older analoge networks. Wheter not this is true or this is just bullshit i don't know, so take it with a grain of salt. This message was posted from a T610
