I buy a phone in Asia and take it back to Europe, will it work then? I know the phone must be sim free but let say Nokia 3650 and SE T610, what if i buy those phones in Asia, will it work in Europe?

yeah and sim-free.i mean not locked onto some asian netw.just tell them u need a sim-free/unlocked phone.

When you day Asia, does that include japan? I think they run a completly different system.
With any luck/hope japanese phones will work here (UK)? doubtful

If SE releases a phone other than the regular freq's they give it a different name. Also when they support other caracters like Chinese. this means when you buy a T610 it is oke for use in Europe, but when you buy a T612 ore something like that it probably won't work. You can check the version on the inside of the phone when you remove the batery there is a sticker near the SIM-slut. here is where you check the version.
