> Time for a P800 Master Reset
Bookmark topic
Wish me Luck I am going to do a master reset tonight and a Memory Stick format.
Then start again from scratch.
I am pretty sure my p800 has picked up useless files during months of installing and uninstalling software and websurfing so it is time to clean it up.
And tips and advice?
Here is my Plan:
Back up (just in case)
Sync with outlook
Make a list of apps i use
----
delete everything on MS
Format MS
Master reset
Turn phone off
----
Restart phone
Manually reinstall all my apps
Sync with outlook
----
I will post here how it works out and what problems I have. My experiece with syncing with out look has not been the best so far so fingers crossed.

If you're being this brave, you should also do a dump of your contacts onto your hard disk (select the "Send this folder" menu item to save it on your PC as a .vcf).
Doing this protects you against accidentally losing the contacts during the sync and is a little less hassle than doing a full restore from the back up. Helped me when I lost my contacts doing my first MacOS iSync!

If you did a back up of a clean R2F firmware, suggest you restore the clean file so as to get rid of any orphaned files from applications that you previuosly installed. Afterwhich, commence with re-installation of new programs

@epscilon
In the preferences for the sync station. I got mine at a SE center now for upgrade, so I can't even start the program to guide you.

Ok I did it last night and I can say that I am not best pleased with the outcome. It seems that the sync software from p800 to outlook or windows address book is very poor indeed.
Here is what I have to sort out this morning:
Tasks: All the tasks are still there but they all have a priority on 3???
Contacts: Some contacts duplicated and on every contact the persons name is added as a extra note at the bottom. Also all the folders that the contacts were in are not saved so I have to reassign them all.
Calendar: Every reminder I had on the phone has now turned into a 30 min appointment but will still repeat every year???
Jotter: All Jotter entries are fine
This in my book is unacceptable! Has anyone else had these problems or can people sync the calendar and keep a reminder as a reminder?
