Just been speaking to Orange CS.

They advised me that no GPRS or WAP is available for there customers while in Canada. That cant be right, can it?

anyone know for sure?

Thanks in advance

Are you a Contract or PAYG customer?

PAYG customers cannot use the phone in canada according to their website. I have been unable to get the Contract coverage map to work but if the CS person said that you cannot then I would take their response as being correct.

Regards,

Phil.

Edit: Just had a bit more of a look and contract customer can make calls from canada so you may be able to use a GSM WAP dialup as long as you have an int. number for it.

Well, he means u cant use gprs wap but CSD analogue wap that is. The speed is 9.6 kbps but its gonna cost u that much cuz its considered as roaming. So technically it is possible but not at 1$/minute i doubt it. For u to use ur usual gprs wap over there it is necessary 4ur provider to have an agreement with the canadian op and they havent. That is exactly what I am talking about . It is the old skool wap connection, go to the configuration page and see if you can get the setting sent to your phone. Like 701 says though, it is going to cost you. (but GPRS would have as well because you cannot claim free time when abroad).

Phil.

well, i think u should reconsider and rent a laptop with the 811.XX standard- it's gonna be cheaper than wapping thru csd in roaming at a dollar a minute hahaha
