I went today to the SE Service center in Dubai. As usual the people sitting on the counter are all useless. My phone usually used to freeze when i got a new sms. So i took it to get it repaired. Therfore i also mentioned to the guy to fix the hissing problem. He seemed a bit aware of the problem. I asked him would there be a hardware change, or would you just put down the amp, as i was not intrested in doing that. So he said there is a software update which takes care of it, and no hardware change needs to be done. I told him ive heard from a few friends, that some components need to be changed, and is not a software fix, but he insisted that its a software fix which will do the job. In the end i went, as of now i havent heard there is a new firmware for the t610, and he goes, there is, we have received a new firmware today morning!!!!!!
Any one heard of a new firmware due to release or is it just the dumb SE Staff again, who dont even know how to log a complain!!!!
Ill get my phone after 2 days so ill come to know by then!

Hate to think what they are doing with it then! No, the proper fix involves opening up the phone and playing with the hardware, the software has nothing to do with it at all - and no, not heard of new firmware yet. Don't thing Celestia (UK service centre) have anything yet, as they would've updated mine if they had - and i just got it back today!

Is the W21 an amps fix or a hardware fix?
Thanks,

Regarding the T610 freezing on receiving an SMS, I post this before but no one seems to be encoutnering the same issue. Do you have a photo associated with the contact that the SMS is comming from? Try to remove the photo of the contact and try to see if it still freezes.
I encountered the same thing when I get an animated SMS from a P800 so I am guessing that it can come from some other source as well.
