Bookmark topic
hello this is a bit of a long story, so apologies to those of you that fall asleep halfway through lol
currently i have a nokia 7250, which, along with vodafone has caused me nothing but problems. after 2 months of being fobbed off from vodafone customer services they have finally agreed that i can exchange my phone for another model of my choice.
straight away i was interested in the t610............but then i read a few comments saying that vodafone adds its own branding etc .
as it is a no questions asked exchange, is it stil worth me opting for the t610?or does the branding make it a bad choice?
thanks
james

i say yes. it will pi$$ you off, some functionality and ease of use it totalled by voda, and the (excessive) 5 live! shortcuts will waste money and, once again, pi$$ you off. unless you can get an uncustomised one, i wouldnt bother. im taking mine back tomorrow, but thats just me...

Hi
I think it is worth it. The voda T610 I have is spot on after initial hiss related problems. Try to make sure you get a R3A version and it should be ok, at least mine is.
The customisations aren't that bad if you do a master reset on everything, disable screensaver(shitty voda one), change the theme to anything but the blue one or the voda one and all that's left of the customisations is the icons snd the voda live soft key, and hopefully, they can be removed later on by a software update. I've heard that some people are looking into removing voda's customisations anyway.
The phone is brilliant, so much clearer than any Nokia phone I have owned and I will probably never use Nokia again unless they make a killer phone and sack their designers who I think have lost the plot a bit lately, just look at the Ngage and the 3650!!!
Besides, if you are 2 months into a contract, voda won't let you cancel so you either have to keep your existing phone or upgrade as they are allowing you to do and the T610 is probably the best phone they have.

The button on the right hand side on the side can be programmed to what ever wap page you want by making a new wap profile using the voda settings but changing the home page.

Don't do it!! Upgrade to the phone that you can get the most money for on ebay, sell it and use the money to buy a SIM free T610 or else a T-mobile/O2 T610. The live! customisations are particularly awful, as are the icons - and if, overall, you end up paying a tenner or so more for the SIM free one, I say it's well worth it.

hmm yeh the ebay idea occured to me too, but tbh i dunno if i can be faffed after the bother ive had! i would consider o2 but cant afford 2 contracts. the tariff im on at the moment with vfone is the only good thing about the whole thing, 300texts for £17.

Yes but not on the phone. You create them on your pc then upload them to your phone as far as I know.
I have downloaded various different themes that work with only one or two that don't, although the only ones I have problems with are ones that use jpegs instead of gifs.
