I have had my T300 for some months now and I am pretty happy with it. The only thing that bugs me is the number of keypresses required to send an SMS message.
After going into the write message menu and entering the message,
the keypresses are:
1 - to go into the phones phone book
a - any letter to find a phonebook entry
yes - to select a particular phonebook entry
yes - to select the number from that phonebook entry
yes - to send the message without adding any extra recipients
Considering that the thing I almost always want to do when sending a text message is send a single message to a single person in the SE's phone book I think this is very long winded.
I would love to see something implemented to reduce the number of clicks to achieve this.
What would be really nice would be to be able to have a send message option of the popup menu of the contact list. That way it would be as easy as holding down a letter to jump straight into the contact list then using the popup option to send that person a text message.
Anyone else find this as irritating as me??

I think in the t610, you just move the joystick once to the left or irght. So there you go
start savin those pennies!

Stop ya winging..... for the last 3 you can just hit ya keys really quick instead of reading them... its not a big deal.

If the T300 is anything like the T68i then just put 'Write New' as the first entry in the shortcuts menu. Then if you hold left on the joystick from the standby screen it will take you straigth to writing a text. You then choose who to send it to when you are ready to send.

@ Phantasm4489: One trick is to setup groups which contain only one number, e.g. a group name called "chris" with your mates mobile number in it. That at least cuts down on a few key presses.
I completely agree though, it is so poorly designed that I am amazed they haven't updated it in recent firmware versions. After all, when was the last time you wrote a message and entered the number in manually? I haven't ever done this!

Thanks for all your comments everyone. I think that last message sums it up nicely.
Its often easier to remember the telephone number than go through the phoebook. Crazy huh!
Has anyone seen the adverts that orange (I think it is) are saying that 80% of users are only using 10% of their mobile phones abilities. Its not really suprising if they are as badly designed as this.
Well actually I should stop complaining now, because other than this I find my T300 a very nice phone.
