whenever I get an sms sent from a website such as o2 the sms tone will sound but the phone freezes for about 10-20 seconds then the sms will show up and the phone is fine again. its not a major problem but is annoying, just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them?

Yes, ive had it, and i think a few people posted the same but never got any replies.
Anyways, i had the same problem when i received an sms my phone would freeze for abt 10 seconds. It annoys the hell out of me. My email provider provides me with a service, which would send me an SMS, everytime i receive a new mail. I receive atleast 20-25 new mails a day on my business account, so going thru it so many times a day is real irritating.
Wht i dint really notice is, if the phone would freeeze if it received an sms esp from the web or from any other mobile phone. Now i think maybe it just freezes when i get an email alert. I will have to check it out. What abt u? Does it only happen from the web or even from a mobile phone?
I've already given my phone to SE service center, to fix the hissing, and have mentioned this problem. Hopefully i will be receivin the phone today evening, so maybe i can check it out then!
Takecare.

its just from the web mate, normal sms is fine, even when the contact has a picture assigned.
mines going back to se today to get the cover replaced (i dropped it) and im gunna ask them to look at a few issues - 1. the hissing 2. the screen flickering when in games 3. this sms problem.
only thing is its gunna be away for about a week which i dont like

Does your freese always u receive an sms from the web? or maybe only sometimes?
What i noticed in mine, was it happened more when it was in the standby mode (ie. showing the clock), and sometimes (Maybe 2 of 10 times;)) it would receive the sms and respond instantly!(even tho if sent from web.)

Could it be that the internet sms's are requesting a confirmation of receipt and that is why your phone is running slow? To test you could get someone to send you a message with status request 'on'.
I'm just guessing though.

Phil.

it happens every time mate, if the clock is showing or if the normal screen is showing it doesnt make a difference.
i was also wondering, when u send the phone off to se for the hissing problem, will they do anythin to the software/firmware cus if they do i need to back up my contacts and pictures.

On the note about loosing contacts e.t.c I doubt very VERY much that you will loose anything. The only way that that will happen is if something goes catastrophically wrong.
