I have read somewhere that the data ringtone is for incoming Fax or data, but can anyone tell what you could use this for? (Particularly the data)

Could I for instance set up my PC (XP Pro) to dial up my P800 and then allow them to remotely synchronise?

Thanks for any help

Hi,

the data facility can be given to you only by your gsm service provider.
Typically once you subscribe for this, you will have 2 different numbers on the same sim, incoming calls on the first number will be treated as voice calls and calls coming in the second number will be treated by your phone for data/fax calls. Once this is done, it depends on the software installed on your phone to handle the data call (you can even receive a fax in your pc/laptop if u have any fax s/w installed in the pc

Hope this helps you.

Regards,
