CommunicAsia2003 - Not Going Ahead
It is with deep regrets that Singapore Exhibition Services, organiser of CommunicAsia2003, has decided to forego the 2003 edition of the event which was scheduled to take place from June 17-20 at the Singapore Expo. BroadcastAsia2003, which was to be held concurrently at Suntec Singapore, will also be cancelled.
Together with our exhibitors and stakeholders, we deliberated the few options open to us which include going on as scheduled in June, moving the event to a later part of the year or foregoing this year’s edition.
As the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak in Asia has not stabilised, exhibitors and visitors alike had expressed concerns about their safety at the show. With the WHO and U.S. CDC advisories against traveling to SARS affected areas, it became painfully obvious that foreign visitorship to the show will be severely affected. As such, we are concerned that CommunicAsia would not live up to its reputation as an international platform gathering sellers and buyers from all over the world.
