I remember some of the older phones in Europe (i.e. Alcatel) used to have this secter menu that would allow users to simultaneously monitor the signal strength from three towers closest to you.

That was fun to watch, because the numbers would constantly change. Besides, there was a formula that would allow you to calculate the distance between your phone and each of those towers.

Does anyone know anything about that kind of menu on these new phones? I am sure the system is in the phone all right, it's just the matter of bringing it alive on the screen.

Anyone?

T68m/i have channel indicator function and GPRS channel indicator... but this can only be activated by a servicepoint...

T68 phones are also used as TEMS phones by engineers within for example Ericsson..

my old 5110 had this menu lol i had to get it installed by someone at work, took about 5 mins to do. Base site engineers such as those at BT use it for testing etc.

MiniGPS for P800 allows one to see that information, but not as detailed as on a Nokia though. This message was posted from a P800
