I can get my P800 to sync with Windows and have messed about with iSync on the Mac's but does anyone know if you can sync with a Linux machine, or if there is anysoftware in development?

Cheers

No you can't synch with linux unless you use emulators like wine or VmWare. Call SE and ask if they are willing to port it to *nix.

Not sure if it will work with wine, but if you got vmware, then you will be running windows full version as a program under linux. So it "could" work. Downside is that you need a windows partition or just a virtual partititon for this to work. And you don't want windows if I am correct (most linux users dont want MS).

Take a look at this...

Haven't tried it myself, yet, but it's certainly no plug'n play

Well if it doesn't work with the usb cradle in linux. Then you would need vmware and a windows cd... And vmware costs a lot of money. Same with windows. As I am sure you would only want to use original programs and no copies *grins*

Try the BT though. That looks like it could work.

Cheers for your replies.

No I'm not one of those M$ haters that wont run Windows, I just like choice and trying new things. I had seen that site on the Bluetooth before, but as of yet I've not got a Bluetooth dongle, plus I cant be arsed to compile new kernels ( cant or it just scares me ?) I think for the time being this could be a no hoper.
I can get my contacts and calender on to Linux but in a totally messy route, hoping there might be a simple option.

Sorry, but with *nix systems there are virtually no simple options. And I know that hacking your kernel and compiling it might sound scary. Well it is for those who never tried before. But so far I think you should use windows if possible.
