Congratulations to Sony for making one of the coolest looking phones to date. I know we all have our own opinions but, anyone who cant see this is a lovely looking piece of kit, needs there head testing "styler phone"
It fits in with my image perfectly, my car is silver the clothes I wear are always black and the standard two tone black/silver finish(aluminium casing - small discrete) is absolutley gorgeous..... (Hey dont knock it, girls match shoes to handbags, why cant we match phones up accordingly - he he)!
Ok enough praise, there are so many things right with this phone but who wants to read a post solely based on praise.
Here are my gripes (I hope this will help new buyers and existing users alike)
Now,
My whole reason for upgrading my dainty little Motorola V66 was to move into the world of colour screens and nifty intergrated cameras - first purchase - Nokia 7250!!!
Now if I wanted a very capable phone the Nokia was ideal, great menu system etc but crappy dot matrix screen and hence the pictures I took with the intergrated camera really didnt show up very well (However, on transferring your pics to a computer, you get very good quality indeed). So, this was not good enough, and it didnt have Bluetooth either - enter in the....
SONY ERICSSON T610
65,000 colour screen, bluetooth, excellent styling.
This phone had to be the dogs bollocks!!!
Camera: -
This phone has a timer function, you can take rapid photos by repeatedly pressing in the little joystick, hell u can even turn the phone on its side and take landscape photos but the crem de le creme has to be the 1 SECOND LAG BETWEEN YOU PRESSING THE CAPTURE BUTTON AND THE PHONE ACTUALLY TAKING THE PHOTO!!!! (sarcasm me thinks) - jeeeeez!
This is not so much of a problem if your object can be bothered to stand still for a couple of minutes (and i mean still) but is a huge problem if your trying to capture someone by suprise! - You will more than likely miss the moment or get some distored/blurred image.
Now the main reason I need a camera on my phone is to take oppurtune pictures of all the pretty girls I come across night clubs - night clubs by nature are dark - so, I flip on the night mode camera switch and to my horror still cant see anything in the blooming lens! and if I do try and take a photo again I get a very dark picture in which you cannot see a thing - god help me if the girl is moving in the slightest let alone dancing lol!!! (I know there is an attachable flash accesory - but who can be bothered to lob that around anywhere I go, Intergrated camera should do all, I think)
p.s this phone takes excellent photos in the daylight/ample lighting conditions and they transfer to P.C well (thumbs up)
Space allocation for photos (that you actually want to keep) is minimal - more space would of been excellent. Nokia 7250 wins hands down on that front!
DAYLIGHT
In extreme sunny conditions the Nokia 7250 screen looked washed out, but the SET610 screen hardly shows a thing it goes into hibernation - lol! (has this post turend into a comparison lol - i didnt intend it too!)
HISSING
I wont go there lol - thats been done. However all this hissing talk is making me so paranoid, I believe my phone dont hiss but then I aint chilled with many snakes in my time so couldnt really spot a good hiss, unless it bit me in the ankle - he he!
POLYPHONICS
Hmmm, adequate (32 instruments) but other phones pull it off better.
ON OFF SWITCH
Strange, I have no problems switching the phone off but I am constantly fighting with the ON button to switch it on, is anyone else having this problem?
Other than that, it is a class phone. I wouldnt sell this phone just because of style alone. It excels in areas and is adequate in others. Hopefully forthcoming firmware upgrades will sort out a couple of these gripes. Any word on any firmware updates?
Enjoy peoples and if you can relate to any of my comments feel free to post back.
LATA.

Spike - what's this same old same old crap!
not very helpful, r u a T610 user? if so are you not experiencing any problems? And if by same old same old you are referring to the fact most of the points raised have already been covered then take a chill pill! (coz I have certainly not got the time to read every past post relating to T610's - sorry kid)
Anti cool - 7250 vs T610
In my honest opinion, the T610 wins hands down. Styling, functions and believe it or not camera capabilities.
Please go for the T610, you wont be disappointed - Nokias are known for there user friendly menu system the T610 in my opinion is on a par (even in this area)!!!!
You cant go wrong with a T610 - trust me.......

Two more very tiny gripes....
As you may or may not be aware, when you leave the T610 unattended for a number of seconds it enters standby mode. this is all very well, but if you happen to miss a call or an sms message there is no way of telling this just by glancing at the phone on your return. By this i mean, there is no indication on the phone that a call has been missed, just a empty black screen staring back at you - the only way to tell is take the phone out of standby (which involves physically touching the phone) to check if uve missed a call!! - arrgh - small I know, but Nokia phones and many others change the screen layout in some way to indicate youve missed a call - standby or no standby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saving a number too phonebook - way to many button presses!!!?
Does no one else out there have any problems with the on/off switch -this is really bugging me now!!!!
p.s - this forum is amazing, the hits counter must be going off the roof - i'm sure theres gonna be about 4 more new topics by the time ive written this post - lol
Understand this, this phone is amazing, I aint hating just griping. Purchase the T610 as soon as possible.
New sony convert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@BonC
When you miss a call the display will be on for several minutes showing that you missed a call!!! I think thats ok. Of cause it would be nice if the red diode in the joystick would blink
Saving a number is not THAT many buttons:
type the number and press 'more', 2, 1, 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4), Add and type the person name, press 'ok' and 'save'.
Also note that cut, copy and paste also works on T610 as on T68i
