Hey!

One question for those who have the T610 and can test it:

In the User Guide, it says:

"If your subscription includes the Calling Line Identification (CLI) service, you can assign a personal ring signal up to ten callers".

Does it mean that you can only personalize TEN callers? And what about the others??!! Is this true? Maybe no one has tried it yet, but I think it's very important...

Anyone knows something?

Thanx

If it says you can personalise 10 peoples ring tones then I believe it. Do you really want different ring signals for more than 10 people though?

Big YES!

In Nokia, for example, I used to have 5 groups, "Friends", "Family", "Business"... and one ring signal for each group. As I could assign as many people as I wanted in every group, I was able to assign one ringtone for each caller.

For me, apart of identifying the kind of person who is calling me before I see it (very different if your boss calls or your girlfriend), it was very useful to have ALL the people in a group, because when someone with an unknown phone rang, I could hear the "Default" song, and I knew I should not loose that call. Instead, if the ringtone was not the Default, I knew that if I missed the call I would be able to know the name of the caller.

Maybe it's a little bit complicated, but if you think it's useful to know if the one who's calling is in your phonebook or not.

Now, if you can only assign 10 numbers, I won't be able to do it.

As you can see, my purpose was not to put 50 different songs, as I would get mad to remember who's each other...

My doubt is that maybe the User Guide means that you can only assign ten different ringtones, not ten users... ok, it's my hope ... sigh

Now...anyone who has tried?

Actually that makes perfect sence what a great idea
I would also want to have one signal for known ppl
and one for unknown. Perhaps groups ain't so bad idea afterall.
Unfortually I don't know the answer to your q. hopefully
someone else know. (If I have to guess I'd say you cannot do it)

I currently have 12 people in my "Personal Rings" list, so it is more than 10, however I haven't yet tried to find out exactly how many it can do.

Shane.

Hi!

With the T610 you can create groups, but I think they're only to send mails or messages to all the components of a group, as someone posted that you can only add "numbers" to the group, not "users". That's why I don't think you could do what I want with the groups...

The reason why I'm asking this feature is because technically (I'm a programmer) it's incomprensible why should be the number of personal ringtones limited to then, since it would be easy and not much memory-expensive to make it extensible...

Any T610-owner dares to test it?

thanx
