Anyone got the Remote Control software from www.bitween.com working? If you have succesfully controlled a pc via gprs and the web from your P800 I would love to hear from you. Many thanks Matthew Raymond

I think I will try it on the lan first. Good idea. I have other remote control software running on the pc I tried today via GPRS and that may have upset it a bit.

Hi,

you need to know your pc ip address, and have your firewall open with the right port settings so you can access your pc from remote. Just install the client on your p800 and the server on your pc, set the access passwords, and go for it. For me it was straight forward.

I installed it some couple of month ago and it worked nicely. The guy from bitween (italy) was doing some nice support to make it running smoothly...

Got it working fine now. Problem was a clash with the other Remote control program that I use to run my P800 from my desktop. Providing that is not running on the phone it works fine. Awesome piece of software no doubt about it. Fiddly to get around the screen because of the size difference but incredible nevertheless. Respect is due to bitween.com!

I STILL cannot get this program to work. The computer I'm trying to connect to is on a wireless 802.11b network, so I'm obviously connecting through a router. I've been able to get the ip address of my computer (www.whatismyip.com) but when I tell it to connect it just says its connecting for about 2 seconds, then goes away like nothing happened.

Whats the deal? I'm desparate to get this program up and running on my P800....if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them. Thanks.

I am having the same problem. When I am connected by USB remote still uses Wap-GRSM instead of the cable. Opera browser uses the cable to connect. weird?!?! This message was posted from a P800

i downloaded some remote control software to run my pc from my p900,i can install it ok on the p900,but it just says open Remote Control Server on your pc to begin.
When i try and open the software on the pc,it asks me for a "superuser" password,i do not know this??? and whatever i type in doesnt work,do u have to register the software in order for them to give u the full version with superuser password?

Superuser password is blank to start with I seem to remember.

Try just pressing [return] at the promp.

BTW: The software works for me ok, if a little fiddly due to screen size differences as said above.

Superb for emergencies and the like though!
