My phone keeps showing the 10-sec shutdown screen everytime I turned on my phone. So I did that and turned on the phone again, but the screen keeps showing up. Also tried removing the battery but it didn't help.
I'm not sure if it would be related but before this happened, I moved one voice note from the Internal Memory to the Memory Stick DUO because the phone showed a message saying that it was low in storage space. (before the move, the Internal Storage had about 0.23 MB, after it had about 3 MB)
Another interesting thing is that the SMS screen showed over 200 new incoming SMS (which is certainly wrong). There were incoming SMS but it couldn't be 200!!! Sometimes the number also changed to 170 something new messages.
I think the Master Reset or firmware upgrade might solve the problem but all the data will be gone. Anybody has a clue about this??? Please help.

I think you should update your phone to R2F. I haven't had the triangle of death ever since I upgraded. Plus you also get a swap file which makes sure that your phone wont die when running low on memory.

@Lordmike:
How can you "get" the swap file ?
Isn't it created automatically by the phone itself ?
After I installed File Manager, I can see that my P800 has a swap file of about 256 KB.
Any idea as to what will happen if I delete the file ?

@ac
From the info I read on this forum it is created by the phone itself.
I don't think you can delete it, but if you do. It will probably just "emerge" again after a reboot or at once. I never tried it though.

Hmm I've been on R2F for a while now.. and recently I've been visited with the returns of the *gasp* triangle..

I solved the "Triangle of Death" without losing the data!!
As soon as the phone is on, I immediately deleted the hundreds of bad SMS messages that the phone created. This prevented the phone from shutting down too fast. Then using the cradle, I backed up the data to my PC and did the Master Reset with the "Delete installed applications" checkbox unchecked. (this preserved my File Manager, Opera browser, etc.)
After the reset, I restored the data and everything was back. Still really wanna know what caused the phone to behave crazily though.
