Hi
I just set up a user account for my mum on my computer as she wants to learn how to use it.
Now i have set her account as limited....but she can still access my d:\ and all its files. I dont want her crawling through my porn! or anything private. Why cant i make all folders private? it only gives me the option on windows folders such as my documents.
Ideally i dont want her to have access to my d:\
can any1 help?

Method 1 would be to store it in the windows files rather than d:/. Otherwise do you have your own sign in name? I assume you do. Store everything in your my documents and them right click on my documents and choose properties. Them click on one of the tabs and choose make my documents private or something like that. This means that you can only they your documents while logged on as yourself and hence will be unavailable to her. Tell me ifthis helps

Open my computer click on Tools > Folder Options choose the "View" tab. Scroll down to the bottom and UNTICK "use simple file sharing (recommended)".
Now in My Computer right click on the D: drive go down to Properties and choose the security tab. In here now you add yourself and give yourself full access and remove everyone else. This will only allow you to access your files.
For all this to work you should have your D: drive in NTFS format, if it is FAT you won't have the security tab in your properties window.
In this case click start > run and type CMD this will open up a command line window. In this window you need to type
convert D: /fs:ntfs
This will change your D: drive from FAT to NTFS without deleting your data.
