Hi, I can't get my t68i to send/receive emails.. I've got T-Mobile with the "GPRS - Active" account in the Netherlands. After trying to get my tmfweb email acount to work, I gave up and tryed something else.. Now i'm trying to get Xmbox.com to work, but both POP and IMAP won't work...
I keep getting a "can't find server" error..
Thanks in advantage..
p.s. sorry for my bad english

I had same problem. Use the same phone number/user name/password as you use on your computer to connect to the internet. And set a data account up with those things.

Well I know it's possible, cause someone else has it working to on the same phone, with the same provider
Anyway... de !&(^@#@%^&(%$@^&!(%#&^@ customer services lady has made a mistake with activating my GPRS account, so i'll have to call them back tomorrow...

If you want to connect using GPRS then you will have to phone up your provider and ask them to enable GPRS DATA on your account, otherwise you will have to connect via GSM.
Are you using URLs or IP addresses for the servers? If you are using URLs then dont bother, change it to the correct IP address and gove that a go. You may find however that your provider has even blocked POP/IMAP access from the GSM dialups in which case you will have to contact your provider.
Regards,
Phil.

Have you check the APN setting? You will almost certainly need a dedicated 'Data Account' for accessing your mail box and any other internet stuff. You cannot use the same data account as is used for WAP. To set up a new account select the Connect/Data comm./Data accounts menu. Then Add account? The APN will probably be something like 'Internet' without the quotes. The rest will be the same as your WAP GPRS data account. You will then need to edit your email settings to use this new data account.

@ sabbie: the problem lies with T Mobile. They f**k up frequently with gprs. Make sure your data account is installed properly..... once it is, you shouldn't have any problems. As you've seen in the Dutch thread... it might take a while for our friends @ T Mobile to get it right
Good luck and pls let us know when they fix it

allrighty, it works
What I did:
* I called to activate GPRS, they said it should work in a few hours.
* I called 5hours later, it didn't work, they resolved the problem.
* I called next day, it didn't work, everything whas right! they said!
* I had a message on my voicemail.. Everything whas NOT right, they signed me up for the wrong (much more expensive) acount! but now it should work.. They also asked me to call back when I get my bill because I would be charged for the other acount I didn't use. They also gave me a APN name (wap-act). WAP WORKS! e-mail doesnt...
* I called again the next day, FINALLY! I had someone on the line with a little intelligence.. He told me I should use the APN name 'internet-act' for emailing instead of 'wap-act'
A miracle!! It worked, and I only had to call them 4 or 5 times.... :/ :S
