Does anyone know the optimun size, frames per second and data rate for creating mp4 on the p800. Would b nice 2 recreate the smoothness of the 'world of connectivity' mp4 that's bundled with the phone. I'm using final cut pro 4 to output via quicktime but there's so many infinite criteria. It all works but it aint great.

Cheers in advance

Try QCIF, (176x144) for image size, a frame rate of 12,5 for PAL material, 15 for NTSC and 12 for 24 fps material. Use a bit rate below 250 kbs/s. Remeber the old saying - Shit in shit out, make sure that the source material is as good as it gets. Transcoding is not recommended. Make sure that the sound it set to Mono and the Sample Rate is 8.000. If you are using speech from ine source only then download the QT 3gpp component for AMR sound. The template Excel sheet that comes with the PV encoder is a good guidence for different material, although I personal think it is a bit optimistic some times.

Good Luck

Welcome to esato johnny c

I use sorenson squeeze and discreet cleaner XL i use a resolution of 200 X 150 15 FPS 32.000khz mono sound
Iv converted the simpsons and T3 and they came out OK the thing to remember is the P800 player cant handle to much info, like the simpsons can play full screen and the frame rate is OK but a movie has more info so you can only play it not at full screen. its the sound that effects it the most so don’t make the quality to good
