> T65 - No Listening Volume - Help??!!

Really appreciate some help if you can give it.
I have a SonyEricsson T65.
The phone works perfect in every aspect EXCEPT.... the listening
volume is permanently set on zero.
I have tried to use the side buttons to increase but they will not
work for this purpose - it is locked on zero volume.
The side buttons work for every other increase/decrease function - but
will not work for the volume.
I have RESET the phone, RESET the master settings... everything I can
think of.
All volumes, tones, ringers etc are very loud and fine.... ONLY
earpiece volume is low and will not increase.
Anyone know what the hell is going on???????

Because you can't remove the battery on the t65 to do a hard reset you need to press and hold the off button for at least 10 secs - have you tried this?

Maybe it is the firmware???
Strange the way it just suddenly happened, one minute perfect...the next no volume????
Any other suggestions before I take it to the service centre???
