Making it unusable for the purpose it was designed for, as a camera phone.

Can anyone suggest what I can do please?

I have just emailed them, but this does not seem like good service, I sent them my t610 in mint condition, and they have repaired the hissing but cracked the camera lens.

just sent mine off to them , do'h !!! um if i were you i'd get onto sonyericsson and demand a new phone off them. i mean if they didn't cock up in the 1st place you wouldn't be sending your phone off (which cost £4.50, and i don't see reinbursing us with that money). go.. kick some ass.

Sony Ericsson helpline now closed,

Sent my t610 all bubble wrapped and in a jiffy bag so it would not get hurt, and something has cracked the lens.

Gave my full contact details too, and they did not even have the decency to ring me, I now have no way of knowing whether they received it like that, if so I have to claim off Royal Mail insured it for £1000, or if it happened at Celestica, which is quite likely, seeing as I sent it bubblewrapped and they sent it back bubblewrapped.

I would imagine that this happened at Celestia. Something probably happened when they opened it up to fix the hiss, and the lens was accidentally cracked. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't notice it when they finished. It's such a tiny thing anyway, so why would they take notice, especially when they were doing a simple fix of the speaker?

Wait until monday (or even call them up tomorrow), and get on top of them. It can't be difficult to put another little lens in. It should be part of the warranty, so it won't cost you anything.

Likewise, if they completely deny damaging it, just claim if from Royal Mail. Like you said, it's insured for a grand!

that piece of glass is not the cam lens, just a protection to the actual lens which is only 1mm.
