its on dabs.com and is only £36 so i'd b able to store like a hundred songs compared to my current eleven. is it possible to use such a large card, as i assume the player is just a reader and can read any card, whether the gig card is possible(dont get excited i've only seen one of em)

UIQ OS currently does not allow the P800 to use a memory stick larger than 128MB. if all you want to do is to store more music on your phone, get the ogg player and convert your MP3's to the ogg vorbis format. doesn't cost you a cent either.

i currently use less than half of my 128MB MSD for music and i have close to 50 songs on it. you can download the player at www.my-symbian.com then go to www.dbpoweramp.com to download software to convert MP3's to ogg vorbis.

From what I remember, it only supports cards up to 128. However, if you go to the official SE site and contact them, they should be able to clear up the issue for you. This message was posted from a T300

You can never be sure whether the HPM10 will really work with that MMC from your shop.
According to Sony Ericsson the HPM10 officially wont work with anything higher than 64MB.

BUT: I for myself used the player with both 128 and 256 MB cards I shoot on ebay without any glitches. So you can be pretty sure it will work with your card also.

I took the above advise and asked sony. They said that mmc cards are generic disks and that it doesnt matter how big they are they should all work perfectly. Obviously they all differ slightly so its worth testing it first, but a new gigabite card has come out so thats 400 songs!

care to post the link to the dabs bargain - I had a look and could not find it ? If your device supports SD cards as well as MMC its usually a better bet to go for SD as they typically have faster transfer rates - which is more and more of an issue the larger the card you get.
