I have "aquired" a midi upgrade for the P800, it certainly does improve the quality of the ringtones (percussion especially).

Just want to know if anyone else has tried it, cos i have noticed that the ring is a lot louder (in fact had to turn ring down to stop distortion).

Didn't notice much difference in volume in mine

But I've tried both patches, love the hi-quality aj patch which sounds great overall except with instances where there are drumbeats or something and it sounds off really loud cymbals clashing, pity.

Didn't happen with the nokia patch but i really like the aj patch.. even though my phone vibrates fer 5 secs before it starts to ring

This one is beatnik, but i would be interested in trying out the others you mentioned as well if you wouldn't mind telling me how to source them!

I use the nokia patch from the renegade site. And I like it a lot. haven't tried the larger patch though.

@dumbteminal
What do you mean by "source them"?

You find them at http://renegade.w3xs.com/ under Tips & Tricks - Enhancing the MIDI playback on your P800-updated!

it appears the one i had was the 3650 patch.

I downloaded the full beatnik patch - quite impressive but the midis do take longer to load!

by "source" i, of course, meant download them, but was being liberal with my words

I was thinking of patching my Midi, but don't want to because of the increased loading time. I have Midi files as ring tones, so don't want it to delay by up to 10 seconds before I'm notified of a call - it'd go to voicemail before I even heard it ring!

Does anyone have any experience of this?
