Hi, I'm both new to the forums and to SE (longtime Noki* user). I am getting a T300 in a few days and I was wondering what some of the first things I should do would be?
I'm definitely doing the 12.5 second trick. Then should I look at the firmware version and try and get an upgrade if needed...
So, hello again and any advice is welcome.

good for you dude, get it flashed to the latest firmware is a must. you may like to browse down through the next 10 or so pages or do a search to look for stuffs that's good for your mobile.

I'm actually doing that right now (searching through posts). I'm trying to search out a shop here around Vienna now that can do firmware upgrades....

The latest firmware for T300 is R1G as far as I know and its been out a couple of months so if you are buying a new T300 you almost certainly should receive it with the latest firmware already

Sorry, one more dumb question, where is a good resource for keeping up to date with firmware revisions??

Why dont u get the T310 instead.. the latest firmware version of T310 has calendar and sync facility which is not yet available for the T300... and it may not be available also.. dont make the mistake I made... I wish I had got the T310 instead...

well I happen to think the T300 is a good quality phone!! Personally, I prefer it over T310. I just wish it had bluetooth.......

They don't always sell the phone with the newest firmware. I bought a t68i from se online and it wasn't the latest firmware. A friend had the same from another shop.
