Here's a post for people who aren't on other boards
-------------------------------------------------

Attention! I recently received an email from Pocketop, a company that makes wireless keyboards for mobile devices. I had enquired as to whether they had plans to create a keyboard for the P800.

Veeeery positive response.

They have made a driver which is in its alpha stages at the moment, but is very workable.

Halleluja!

Now, my question is will all you developers rework your old programs to work with a keyboard? I absolutely cannot use SMSPlus with the stylus which makes the buttons hard to press, or the jog dial which has that annoying auto-run.

One thing is for sure: this would make every program on our phones 4 times as usable.

That link at the top can get you there, but here's the link to the store.

Yes, I meant to say that you can buy the keyboard, but not the driver yet.

The driver its self is very close to completion and release. We'll see.

a member of my forum just received the pocketop keyboard without drivers and has emailed pocketop asking for some drivers for p800. we don't know if they are going to send him an alpha, beta or final version or when they are going to send it, though.

has anyone got an alpha or beta version yet?

I once owned a Pocketop keyboard for my Clie (Palm) PDA. I sold to a chap at work as I did not find the keyboard to be very comfortable. The number keys, from what I remember, required the use of a function key. However, given that no other manufacturer has been bothered to support a keyboard for the P800 (inc. SE) I think we should encourage Pocketop. Why not send them emails at http://www.pocketop.net/
