Just got a w19 r2e from CPW this morning.. wondering about the speaker volume. I tried using the phone outside and found the volume just about ok at maximum.... anyone else find this ? I should say it was quite noisy outside where I tried - so perhaps thats the issue here.

Also not too sure about the ring volume too (again at max). Digirain is fine but the others might be a little to quiet...

Digirain is about the loudest ringtone, it is only just permissible, but the rest are too quiet in loud environments.

The volume during a call is fine, even in busy restaurants and streets.

I agree whole-heartedly with you... That's why, when I sent mine in to Celestia yesterday, I left a note with them to check it out (and hopefully boost it). I don't really have much problem with the ringtone volume, since I usually notice calls by the vibration, but when making calls the volume IS pretty low, even at maximum.

Hopefully I'll get the handset back from Celestia tomorrow, so I'll let you know if they boosted it or not...

Personally I never use ringtones, only the vibrate.
Do you have the vibrate on as well as ringtone to help in knowing there is an incoming call in the street?

i always have vibrate on too and i think it's much stronger than the vibrate on my t300

i don't use any of the ringtones that were on my t610, but instead get midis off the web. i also compose them on the phone and these are surprisingly louder than ones that come with the phone.

I find it hard to hear anyone when the volume is one off the max. The ringtones are OK, but hard to hear when out and about or if the phone is in another room, probably due to the escalation. Mine is also a W19 R2E. It is being picked up today as I am unhappy with it and I am going to wait for R3A W23 stock!!!

@Declanh - Did you feel that the phone packaging & screen sticker seemed used and not as fresh as brand new?

Nope - seemed very new - everying nicely sealed etc - no evidence to suggest that it was preused.

I have since phoned CPW and they are send me a new phone tomorrow... but can't guarantee any batch or week number ... so there is every chance this will be just the same...
I explained this when i phoned and the guy (who was pretty helpful) said that the phone is sent stright from the warehouse ... if it hisses and has low volume they will 'discuss my options' when i test it tomorrow....

Guesss I'll just have to wait and see....

Guess what - the courier (citylink) appears to have lost the phone according to CPW... so I told them I'd had enough faffing about and that I wanted a refund - they told me to return the phone to any CPW store which I did and they are posting me a cheque for a refund.

Incidently all the stock (of six phones) in the store in belfast were 03w19r2e on the phone but r2A on the box (just like my mail order one). I suspect this means that they have been 'remanufactured'.
Is anyone else getting this R2a/R2e box and phone mismatch ?

Declan,

The remanufactured issue was my concern, you were lucky your equipment looked brand new, because my didn't. I have just bought a 03W23 R3A phone locked to T-Mobile and it is perfect. The screen seems better too!!! I have now noticed that the old phone from CPW was quiet, and there was a faint hiss, now non-existent.

Cheers
