ive used symIRC, connecting to irc.quakenet.org
connected perfectly, takes a while though.. but sometimes stuggles with receiving messages.. just comes up with errors.
it works about 40% of the time..

whats the other bit of software?

I don't think it works with wap.. You need internet..
I may be wrong about this...

Generally if opera works irc works.. And if opera doesn't work you need to call your service provider because it means you only have wap access.

I've been hacking on the SymIRC code to get rid of these bugs and improve it's usability. Check it out and see what you think: http://wolvie.org/projects/symirc/

Has anyone followed up on this topic?

So far I have tried SymIRC, ChatMate, and QuIRC, without much success. Should I give NetwIRC a shot?

Any settings that need to be adjusted, because I can't get on any of the servers.

BTW, I'm on T-Mobile US.

Thanks for any advice.
