I am suprised that nobody on Esato forums have yet mentioned the mobile phone ban that has been all over the UK news stations.

Apparantly there is a £1000 fine and 3 points to the license if anybody gets caught on there mobile phones!

@sam12, well it HAS been mentioned briefly here;(sixth post down) http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=31502&forum=35
Its not a law yet but some police forces in UK have booked people for careless driving if seen using a phone in the past anyway, but it has become a real killer, with people trying to write SMS on the move being the most dangerous. i have done it, but i DONT now as i enjoy life too much

Its £30 + 3 points and only up to £1000 if it goes to court (presumably if the offence is considered to have caused a dangerous situation at the time of being spotted).

I don't know why they target mobile users so much because it was on the radio just last week that survey showed that 30% or more people do lots of things while driving, like drinking, writing notes, reading maps, etc etc. I heard on the radio yesterday a woman was stopped in US for breast feeding her kid while driving through a toll booth!

edit: btw.. how come this is in the Asia Pacific forum?

@masseur, ...any piscs of the "Breast" incident
Yea, i also think mobile users are being over targetted, for instance taxi drivers had been using hand held radios for years & the police themselves use hand held devices, are they BETTER drivers than us or something ???
Next thing they will be banning oral sex while driving, we really are living in a police state !
