OK before you all Flame me, yes its my first post, and yes I have already used the search facility to see if I can find an answer already posted here.
Thank you to those who are still reading to try and help out with my problem.
I want to create MP4's to watch on my P800.
If my source file is .avi format and plays perfectly well on my PC, why does it suffer from a video - audio synchronisation problem when converted to MP4? The software I am using for the conversion is Packet Video. I have downloaded and am using the P800 settings, but once the conversion process is complete there is a lip-sync error of a few seconds. 1. Is this a common fault, 2. Am I doing anything wrong that anyone knows of, 3. Is there a fix and 4. If there is a fix can someone please point me in the right direction. I would like to buy the full version of Packet Video but if I can't get the demo working correctly re video - audio sync I see no reason for the outlay.
Many thanks for those taking time out to answer my queries and thanks for letting me join your community.

I have heard something about Quicktime pro being able to convert .avi to .mp4 but I am not 100% sure on this one... anyone else?
Oh and it was suppose to be the lastest pro. 6.2 or something?!

Yeah I recommend mpegable. I have got much better results from this than any other mp4 encoding program I have found.

@kitp800
Yeah I usually use VirtualDub to resize the clip to the max size the P800 can handle (192 * 144) keeping the aspect ratio intact (using cropping for better result if needed).
Then I use mpegable to convert the resultant clip into an mp4.

I dunno mate, I live in the middle of nowhere and I'm still on R1D, to get the full screen vids I would have to send my phone away for the upgrade. At the moment the thought of being without my precious for a week is too much.
