Hi folks,
The contacts behind my T68 keypad appear to have worn out *again* - I'm obviously sending too many text messages. The phone's now out of warranty though, so does anyone know the best way for me to get this repaired in the UK? I haven't yet managed to contact Celestica to find out how much they'd charge - does anyone know whether it's very much, or whether there's a better company to use?
Any advice would be much appreciated!

OK, it turns out that Celestica's minimum repair charge is £49.94 (ouch!), but they obviously can't say for certain whether my repair charge would be higher until they see the phone. Does anyone know of another UK company who'd also do a good job, but at a lower price please?

Just get hold of a torx 6 screwdriver and do the job yourself. You can order non official keypads from daydeal.com (they come in loads of colours) and you could fit one in your sleep.

Do these have the contacts on the back of the keys though? I do have a replacement phone cover which I will fit sometime (I've got problems removing one of the torx screws, as the head has completely worn away), but they keypad included with this just has plastic bumps on the back to press down (I assume) the metal contacts.

just replacing the keypad will not help.. the keydome foil between the keypad and systemboard is the one that need to be changed... this is not included when buying a keypad.

T6 screwdriverr are relatively cheap and at most places they only charge you a small amount extra to bed it to your order. They are easy to fit. Next time use a leather case so it doesnt wear out!

Yes, this is what I suspected - is this easy to fit, or should I get someone like Celestica to do so?

Leather cases do actually reduce wear and stop rubbish messing up the keypad
