anyone else had problems switching on the T610?
keep pressing the button to no avail. Eventually seems to switch on after much button pressing. But switches off easily...

It seems to be a little like the T68i. If you press the on button but not long enough it seems you have to wait a while (maybe 5 seconds) before doing it again.
No problem when you get used to holding the on button down until you see the screen light up though.

just press the power button down for 2 to 3 seconds and release. the screen will come on about another 2secs or so. but for mine, i pressed for 1 sec and it switches on without my finger releasing the button yet.

Phone is a bit fussy about how the button is pressed...
Best solution I guess is to not switch it off.

btw just to follow up the story... it turned out to just be me being neurotic - I had just got my phone that day, and the phone sorted itself out after the next battery charge.
I guess when you read about things going wrong with SE phones, its easy to jump to conclusions... On the whole pretty reliable phones after all

The trouble with the power button is that it's too small (even for the average Asian finger). I guess you're right about it not meant to be turned off.
It's either you're using it or it's being charged... no need for it to be turned off.

Yeah, it used to annoy me when my T68 would turn itself off in my pocket (I guess due to the NO button accidently held down).
I haven't carried my T610 around enough yet to know if it is liable to do the same...
Its really the only downside to non-clam shell phones
