On O2 it is easy. Use the GSM wap dialup to connect with since it is cheap/free adn then just fill in the blanks to configure it for your ISPs email. The only other thing that you need to remember is to use the O2 smtp server. Have a look again in the POP/IMAP settings thread - I have posted my settings in there which may be of help.

@ phil.n

i had a look on your post, are all the numbers the ones needed for o2 (i noticed you had btinternet details)

i tried some settings from that thread before and i think i had trouble entering the details into my t610, but let me know and i will try again, thanks for your help!

*edit* phil just tried to edit my settings, it didnt give me an option for using o2 wap gsm, but i have that profile set up for wap access, in 'connect using' it offers me genie, o2 gprs or o2 mms, would the genie be the wap one?

Sorry for cutting in, but could you give me the pop+smtp ip numbers for yahoo ? Also i have an O2 account working fine on a T68i, but it won't find server on my T300. I used this on O2 for pop + smtp 193.113.160.13 This message was posted from a T300

ok,

my settings are for a btinternet email account so you do indeed need to change the settings so that they reflect an O2 email account.
You say that you downloaded the GSM settings but cannot identify which data account it is? To find out, simple go to connect\Data comm.\data accounts and edit each account in turn. The first option in GSM accounts is 'phone number' whereas in GPRS accounts it is 'APN'.

use the IP address 193.113.160.13 for both your incoming and outgoing server.

Regards,

Phil.
