hi

just to give an update of the current issue with the firmware flash for the t610 to remove the voda/t-mobile customizations is very almost completed.

we have completed the tests and am now ready to do one final test before this process will be available to all.

we have succesfully removed the voda live items from our test handset.

@simeon if you read this post can you contact me plz.

please be a little more patient for another day or so until we finish finalizing this.

regards

Nick

Thanks for letting us know. I will bring my phone along and there are a few friends of mine who are interested too.

Can you let me know a few things?

1. Is it possible to back up the phone settings, pictures etc etc before removing the customisation, since I presume it is some sort of flashing.

2. Is it possible to back up the current EPROM with customisation incase we don't like the change due to any possible errors and want to revert back to the standard Vodafine Live!

3. What happens to the warranty?

Thanks

1) yes use phone backup form chrissten.org

2) yes its possible but i only know how to do it on DT-3 nokia handsets

3) it is void unless origional SE firmware is put back on it

it can ba dangaros(sp?) to flash your phone yourself only let qualifed people do it as it can screw your phone.

aah i remember back in the day when i descoverd project 5110

god i jus read my post over and i decided i cant spell to save my life.

Thanks for your answers.

The Christersson.org software does not support T610 and it does not backup the pictures and ringtones and other things.

nick,

just wanna check if after we flash our sets, and in future if we do need to upgrade our firmware versions down at SE serv centres, would there be any complications?

will our warrantys be void after we do this?
cheers.

hi guys

I beleive your warranty will be voided in technical terms, but i think this is bull because it is only the original firmware flash for the handset, so if anything went wrong with my handset after awhile even if it were a hardware problem nothing to do with firmware i would still send it off to sonyeric for repair, so technically yes you warranty is voided but is it fair NO!

as to backing everything up, i dont think there is an easy way at present with the t610, so yes everything would be wiped from the handset inc phone numbers, logo's, ringtines etc.... oh and also the voda live stuff would be wiped

I'm assuming that the EEPROM will be re-flashed with that from an unbranded, original T610.

Hopefully, this 'update' will cover all brands of phone.... Hopefully!
