Hello,

I'll be dropping by Hong Kong and I'm wondering if anyone has any detailed info about Sony Ericsson service centers. I need to upgrade the firmware of my P800 and T68i and also to replace a LCD display on the T68(ded pixels).

Any detailed info on COST, TIME, and LOCATIONS would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, the last time I flashed my firmware was in Singapore, I use the english text. I'm wondering if that may be something to consider when upgrading in HK due to the Chinese text/formats.

Hi, sorry I don't know can you update the firmware for your non-HK-official phone.

But I just can say that SE HK really sucks. The hotline +85282038863 always give people very stupid answers. I asked about the hissing sound problem of T610 and they just said "try to lower the volume"...... I said it didn't help and they replied "Strange! We had never heard about it"........... But I'm sure many T610 users call them about this issue too!!! They requested me to leave my name and phone number but I still haven't got any reply after more than a month........

Also, the service centres in HK have very poor service. They repair phones carelessly. My friend brought a T68 there to repair but when he took back, he found that the case did not install correctly and firmly.................. And they like exchanging phones for saving time to repair. One time I requested to update firmware but they had exchanged a so-called "new" one for me. (New = Conditioned) That means the IMEI on the phone and the box are not match. I hate this!

By the way, I give you the address of the centres.

1.
Room 1802, 18/F Park In Commerical Centre, 56 Dundas Street, Mongkok, Kowloon

2.
Room 1009, 10/F Leighton Centre, 77 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

Service Hours: Mon-Sat 1100-2000, Sun & Public Holidays 1200-1600

Personally I recommend the one in Causeway Bay. Because there are fewer people taking phones to repair. However, if you want to see how crowd a service centre can be and how poor is the service, you can "visit" the centre in Mong Kok (for sight-seeing only, haha).
